Custom Brick Box unlocked, 300% funded!

Hi all!

first of all, welcome to the new backers! thank you for backing the project. Ravn IIII is growing and unlocking items and upgrades.

We reached the 300% stretch goal and unlocked the custom brick boxes.

Here is a rendering, description and specs will follow. We hope you like it!

This box is made with hard cardboard with magnetic closure. The plan is to use 2 different papers: textured black outside with red+black foil application, and red inside, sides included and on the sides.

How to get it? who gets it?

All backers with one or more bricks will get a box for each brick. Remember that all bricks are split-bricks, so the split-brick configuration is: 4 Ravn IIII red, 4 Ravn IIII blue, and 4 Ravn X.

If you added/add a split-brick on top of your pledge, the custom brick box is included of course.

Add and empty brick box

It is possible to add an empty brick box on top of your pledge for 180 SEK and no extra shipping costs.

The custom brick box does not count as "released item", because it is already mentioned in the reward description as included if the stretch goal is reached. This means that you get the boxes for your bricks of course, but not one or two extra empty boxes. Something else is coming for the "released items" group.

Next Stretch Goal: 350%

For the next stretch goal, we are planning the inner graphics for RAVN X tuckbox. It will be hot-foiled most likely in red.

Hi all!

First of all, welcome to the new backers! THANK YOU FOR BACKING, and thank you to everybody for the great response after the release of RAVN X.

Sorry if we are late with this post, the 250% goal happened too fast! :)

In this update:

PIN

A new add-on is now available and a couple of reward have it included already. We get there in the next chapter.

Say hello to Sir Ravn the 4th with reveal card as pin.

• 30x30mm size (1.18x1.18")
• 3 enamel colors (red, black, white)
• with metal butterfly clasp (that thing on the back)

You can add as many as you wish for 35 SEK each, no extra shipping costs for int. backers.

Clarification about items in 2 rewards

When you read items released during the campaign, it means the following items:

• RAVN X decks
• PIN
• CUSTOM BRICK BOX (300%) for your bricks
• STICKERS (release at the end of the campaign)
• other items we are working on

So far The Loop gets one pin and one RAVN X, Sir Ravn gets 2 pins and 2  RAVN X.

Clarification about SPLIT BRICKS

This is playing-card-related terminology, here is a quick explanation:

• A brick is a set of 12 decks, usually of the same color.
• A split-brick is a set of 12 decks usually with 6+6 color configuration (example: 6 red and 6 blue)
• A half brick is a set of 6 decks
• A half split-brick is a set of 6 decks usually with 3+3 configuration
• With RAVN X release all split bricks upgrade to 4+4+4 configuration (4 red, 4 blue, 4 RAVN X)
• It is not possible to choose a custom color configuration (4+8, or 2+10, or other)
• A regular brick box is a standard white flimsy paper box from USPCC
• A regular half-brick box from USPCC does not exist.
• A custom brick box is a special box designed to store and protect the 12 decks.

Now the important part:

at 300% stretch goal  all the split bricks will automatically get the custom brick box. So, if you have 2 split bricks, then you get 2 custom brick boxes for your decks.

It is possible to add split bricks as add-on  ONLY IF you are are in a reward with a split brick.This is a shipping costs related thing and kickstarter is not structured to fine-tune the rewards and make it easy to us or to you.

Uncut Sheets

We forgot to mention that with the release of RAVN X it is possible to order the RAVN X uncut sheet. You will be able to decide the color after the kickstarter campaign, when you complete the survey.

Frames are not included.

The uncut sheets are shipped separately from the rest of the reward items because they need to a sturdy postal tube.

200% funded: RELEASING RAVN X

3 days and the 3rd deck is already unlocked with 200% funding! THANK YOU, you are amazing!

Before you scroll down to see the pictures and read the details without reading all the rest, here is the new cover:

In this update:

Tuckbox paper upgrade

As written on the campaign page, the tuckbox paper you see in the pictures is not the final one. That is a handmade mock-up printed with a cheap inkjet on a paper with some structure that holds the color very well.

Paper upgrade means that we can choose a better paper from USPCC catalog; a paper that is not the standard tuckbox paper  used for a regular Bicycle deck.

We have 2 options and we asked for advice to USPCC about the best one for embossing. We want sharp and deep embossing, and we are waiting for their response.

RAVN X

Finally, it is time to release RAVN X. X because it sounds cool, and X as 10 in roman numerals because it is the 10th variant of the Ravn series (including Ravn Summer Ale LTD).

About this deck:

• same faces as the others
• back in black on red background (maybe metallic red, we are investigating the possibility).
• Tuckbox paper: black stock + 2 foils (red and black) + embossing
• Tuckbox Inner graphics as stretch goal (not ready)
• seal? maybe later, numbered? maybe

ALL SPLIT BRICKS automatically upgrade from 6red+6blue, to 4red+4blue+4RavnX without extra costs.

New rewards available

With the release of RAVNX there 3 new rewards available:

•  RAVNX: 1 RAVN X
•  RAVN IIII - Trio:  1 Red, 1 Blue, 1 RAVN X
•  RAVN IIII - The X Bundle: 2 Red, 2 Blue, 2 RAVN X, 1 minideck, 1 coin.

ALL SPLIT BRICKS automatically upgrade from 6red+6blue, to 4red+4blue+4RAVNX without extra costs.

Not everybody is an expert backer. So here comes a little explanation about changing reward tier. You just have to go to the campaign page and find the green button saying MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE:

Once you are inside, you just pick another reward of your choice, and confirm. DONE!

Remember that the credit card is charged only at the end of the campaign and you have time to change reward and add items while the campaign is running.

How to add items

Items = decks and other things such as coin, uncut sheet etc.

This is the trickiest yet quite simple part of kickstarter: it is just a simple sum.

•  1)You have already chosen your reward tier (example: RAVN IIII - RED) and it has a total cost with or without shipping, depending where you live.
•  2)Then you look at the list of items and maybe you want to add one of them.
•  3)Look at the price and do the sum: Reward you have + price of the item = total pledge
•  4)Finally you find the button MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE, you click it of course, and change the total.

EXAMPLE:

• you live outside the US
• you picked the reward with one RAVN RED
• you want the RAVN X
• you also want the COIN

RAVN IIII  RED with int. shipping (150+40 SEK) is 190 SEK, this is your reward tier.

You want to ADD RAVNX (+190 SEK) and the coin (+65 SEK).

The math: 190+190+65= TOTAL 445 SEK

You edit your pledge with MANAGE YOUR REWARD button, and you change the amount from 190 to 445.

You will specify what you added after the campaign, when you get the email with your survey.

FUNDED IN 45 MINUTES! HOLY RAVENS! +solving issue with US shipping for 3 rewards.

First of all, thank you everybody for backing. Great start with a couple of shipping issues for US backers that we are going to fix.

Issue with Free US shipping in 3 rewards

This part of the update is only for 3 groups of  American backers in the following rewards:

• GROUP 1) ♠ EARLY BIRD RAVN IIII ♠ SPLIT BRICK
• GROUP 2) RAVN IIII ♠ SPLIT BRICK
• GROUP 3) RAVN IIII ♠ The Loop

Here is the solution:

GROUP 1: American backers in ♠ EARLY BIRD RAVN IIII ♠ SPLIT BRICK  can move to the new reward created only for US backers, called ♠ EARLY BIRD RAVN IIII ♠ SPLIT BRICK (US). This stays open for one hour from the publication of this update and limited to 30 backers.

GROUP 2: American backers in RAVN IIII ♠ SPLIT BRICK  can move to the duplicated reward that is available with the same name: free shipping for US backers as promised. 

GROUP 3: American backers in RAVN IIII ♠ The Loop  can move to the new RAVN IIII ♠ The Loop (US) and get their Free US shipping.
